It’s Friday and we can’t wait to unchain ourselves from our desks and get out and about. Weekend Wanderer is a new series that you’ll find every Friday morning featuring a few activities we’d like to explore. Check them out for yourself or do something in your neck of the woods. Either way, just get out and wander.

You’ll think twice about buying a bottle water after learning it costs 2,000 times the price of tap water. A new exhibit by the Chicago Architecture Foundation exposes how buying decisions affect the environment. “Loop Value: How Much Does It Cost?” has been designed as a pop-up store in the ArcelorMittal CitySpace Gallery downtown. For more information, visit the Chicago Architecture Foundation, 224 South Michigan Ave., Chicago.

The third annual POW WOW Hawai’i art event opens Saturday. Art from over 30 artists who had just the past week to work on their creations will be on display. Influential in the local creative scene, the event originally began in Hong Kong before moving to Hawaii, founder Jasper Wong’s native home. You’ll want to see what made the cut for artists such as Angry Woebots, Flying Fortress and Nicole Naone before the “black out” session in which much of the art will be painted over as a tribute to the artists’ process. For more info, visit POW WOW Hawai’i in Loft in Space x Fresh Cafe, 831 Queen St., Honolulu.
