Krrb member and budget blogger Krista Byers shares plenty of advice for decorating with secondhand items on her blog Goodwill Glam. Yesterday she gave us a few dorm essentials you can pick up at a thrift store. Krista is back today to share two college dorm looks. She chose pieces from Krrb and budget stores to create two pulled-together and affordable spaces.

Colorful and Warm Dorm Room

Chic Dorm

One of the easiest ways to add personality to a drab dorm is with bright color. Add extra storage with an ottoman and side table with drawers. Curtains, bedspreads and pillows can be found on sale at Target and Wal-Mart. For a small on-campus apartment, a daybed can function as a bed and couch for late-night group study sessions. The all-important desk doesn’t need to be plain. Choose a vintage style or repaint a desk in a bright color.

Fresh and Clean Dorm Room

Modern Dorm

Own up to that sleek wood look by keeping it modern and fresh with clean lines. A Mid-Century Modern desk features extra drawer space. Roll up a mod leather chair and sink into studying. A combined dresser and bookshelf stores records, textbooks and folded sweaters. One Krrb member is selling an Ikea sofa sleeper at an incredible discount. It’s the perfect teeny bed that can also work as extra sitting space. Curtains and pillow accents come from the discount racks of retail outlets.
