As part of a new series called The Hot Corner (we can’t wait for baseball season!), we’ll be featuring Krrb corners that catch our eye with their well-curated inventory. Whether it’s upcycled, re-purposed, vintage or  handmade, be sure to see for yourself why we think these Krrbsters have it going on.

In light of the new year, we have the urge to fill our homes with simple well-designed timeless pieces. That’s why we’re obsessed with the mid-century modern furniture found on Retroactive’s Krrb Corner. The minimal aesthetic is just what the doctor ordered and the price is right.

Around here, we can’t get enough of Retroactive—aka Windy City resident Jennifer Sowinski. Last year, guest blogger Diana Durkes highlighted some of the revamped pieces coming out of the Jennifer’s studio. The furniture flipper tackles about 6 to 8 pieces a month in her tiny studio located in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

If you’re lucky enough to be in the Chicago area, be sure to pop into Jennifer’s studio and be sure to keep an eye on Retroactive’s Hot Corner to keep up with all her latest pieces.
