The Hot Corner — Entsorgungskalender, Zurich, Switzerland

Bake your dream man.

As part of a new series called The Hot Corner (we can’t wait for baseball season!), we’ll be featuring Krrb corners that catch our eye with their well-curated inventory. Whether it’s upcycled, re-purposed, vintage or  handmade, be sure to see for yourself why we think these Krrbsters have it going on.

We have to hand it to Mariana who decided last year to get rid of one item daily and has kept her word. That’s why we keep checking for new goodies on her Entsorgungskalender’s Krrb Corner. One man’s (or woman’s) trash could be our treasure.

The Zurich-based collector is especially inspiring this time of year when we make half-hearted vows to finally clean out our closets. Mariana began her disposal calendar in late 2010 after combining households. The idea stemmed from The Little Blue, a wardrobe downsizing project. Mariana’s Disposal Calendar blog is a mix of items—matchless socks that end up in the trash, old clothes donated, and random knickknacks gifted to friends. Her musings on each give us insight on what is truly garbage and what can be upcycled.

We are too far from Zurich to run over for that cake pan, but be sure to track Mariana’s progress as she pares down and keep an eye on Entsorgungskalender’s Hot Corner for her often spectacular refuse.
