Holiday Hell

Don't let this happen to you...

This is crunch time. You’ve waited and waited and waited and now you can wait no more. This weekend you MUST go shopping or you’re sure to fall on somebody’s (everybody’s) naughty list. The thought of hitting the mall undoubtedly turns your stomach but never forget, there are ALWAYS other options.

This season we’ve been lucky enough to partner with some truly outstanding markets in Milwaukee, New York, and San Francisco all featuring great opportunities to step outside the the big box. Though some of these markets have sadly passed us by (Art vs. Craft, Vegan Shop Up) but others are staring us right in the face this weekend, presenting incredible last minute gift getting opportunities for all of you slackers (ourselves included!) out there.

The Archive of Contemporary Music Annual Holiday Sale, Manhattan

Archive of Contemporary Music

Get yourself to the ARC ASAP

This incredible research archive opens its doors to the public but twice a year. With over 20,000 items on sale ranging from, of course, vinyl, to cds, dvds, home-wares, and even clothes there is plenty to choose. We already scored the first Beastie Boys EP, Cookie Puss, and their first record, Licensed to Ill as well as Alice Coltrane’s Journey in Satchindananda and John Denver’s Mile High Christmas. You better get there quick though, this amazing sale ends on Saturday. Check out their Krrb corner for just a fraction of what you can get your hands on this weekend.

Brooklyn Night Bazaar

Brooklyn Night Bazaar

Cozy shopping courtesy of the Brooklyn Night Bazaar

Let’s keep on the music theme here. We all know doing anything is better when good music is involved and that includes shopping. The Night Bazaar opened last night and featured over 100 vendors, food trucks, tasty dranks and the musical meanderings of James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem. From one of our colleagues who went to investigate last night: “The market was hopping and the show was great. It’s a big space so not too crowded. It was just right!” Need you a better endorsement? Check out our previous post for some of what’s on offer till the wee hours of Saturday.

Holiday Indie Mart at The Bold Italic with Workshop SF

Shop n' party at the Holiday Indie Mart

We don’t try and hide our deep affection for our friends at The Bold Italic and Workshop SF. The only way we might be able to love them even more is if they teamed up to throw one mighty holiday party featuring incredible vendors, food, drink and an introduction to The Bold Italic’s new space in Hayes Valley. Well hot damn they pushed our love over the borderline by doing just that. And the party is tonight! There are some seriously cool sellers like Booty Boutique and De Luna Designs. If you are in the Bay Area and you don’t go, we feel sorry for you. One night only and that night is tonight! Check out our previous post for some of what’s on offer this fine Friday eve.

Don’t forget to check out our previous post for a peak at what the weekend has in store for you at Brooklyn Craft Central.
