Natalie Chanin is a force to be reckoned with in the most excellent way. For the past decade she has been making waves in the world of fashion with her line, Alabama Chanin, by melding her rustic aesthetic with a worldly edge. Chanin has been a non-stop advocate of building bridges between worlds both professional and social and now her efforts will be on full display during New York’s Design Week, May 18th through the 23rd.
Running in conjunction with the myriad events and parties invading New York during Design Week, Chanin, as part of the release of her third book, “Alabama Studio Sewing + Design”, has organized MakeShift, a series of workshops and conversations for the fashion and design worlds. We are extremely pleased to be working with Chanin on the opening night event, “Shifting Thoughts on Design, Fashion, Craft, and DIY” on Tuesday, May 15th as well as “Crafting Design” on Saturday, May 19th when we could really use donations of your cast-off chairs. Hope you can join us at one or more of the events during what is always an action packed week.
