Walking into the quaint Greenpoint, Brooklyn establishment of Suite Pieces you may not know what to expect. With the majority of the store housing vintage furniture and knick knacks, you may just assume that this shop is just like any other Brooklyn based vintage boutique. If you think that this place is ordinary, then you definitely don’t know its true essence yet! After talking with the founder and CEO, Amanda Peppard, I got the scoop on the background of the shop and all of the services they have to offer.

After years spent in corporate America, Amanda knew that she needed to make a change and do something with her life that she was actually passionate about. She was originally set up in a tiny rented area of a Huntington building, but the business quickly grew and she now has ownership of the whole building in Huntington, a spot in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and a second Long Island location in Massapequa opening soon!

Suite Pieces serves as a one stop shop for DIY-ers of all skill levels. The friendly staff are dedicated to their work and are more than delighted to help customers with all of their needs. This is something that you don’t come across in bigger arts and crafts stores, so definitely a plus to be able to engage in conversation about an upcoming project!

Amanda and her team are masters in painting and will paint just about anything that they can get their hands on! Almost all of the furniture and decor in the store are items that they have painted themselves. Amanda points a piece out to me that hasn’t been flipped yet and tells me that it won’t be long before they get their hands and paint brushes on it!

You can pick up a variety of paints and supplies from the shop to help you with all of your DIY needs. With an extensive variety of Miss Mustard Seed paint and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, you’ll definitely be able to find the perfect fit for your next project.

One of the best things about the shops is that they offer classes. Their most popular workshop is for learning the basic skills of painting with either Milk Paint or Chalk Paint. These classes are perfect for beginners, or anybody who is looking to brush up on their skills! They also host Pinterest parties, and if this sounds intriguing to you then you should definitely check one out! Suite Pieces chooses a project from Pinterest, supplies all of the materials along with wine and chocolate and hosts a night of crafting for those who love to DIY!
