As one of the style capitals of the world, you wouldn’t expect anything short of perfection in terms of design and aesthetics in New York City. From architecture to interior design, walking through this city leaves you curious about the living spaces of the metropolis’ most stylish dwellers. There are countless blogs to pore over, we rounded up some of our top go-to sites to help you get in that New York state of mind.
Anna Dorfman of Door Sixteen is one of the coolest bloggers out there. We’ve been a fan of hers for quite some time now and can’t wait for you to check her out! If you’re just jumping on the Door Sixteen bandwagon, then you kind of missed the actual “door sixteen” part. The amazing house in Newburgh, New York where Anna documented her life and style was recently sold and she’s a full time Brooklyn resident now (and we’re super glad to have her)! Her personal style is refreshing and her design suggestions will get you pumped up for a redesign! Follow along with her throughout her next journey and you’ll realize how quickly you become invested in her story.
Color Me Quirky
The interior designer Sarah Jane of Color Me Quirky brings some serious interior design inspiration—you won’t be able to look away. Sure, you can scroll through Pinterest and your favorite magazines, but this girl certainly has an eye for design and curates her blog to perfection. It all started when she needed a creative outlet at a time when she was doing work that wasn’t inspiring her enough. Follow along with her projects and her influences (and her most recent trip to France for client work) if you’re in the market for some interior touch ups!
Reading My Tea Leaves
If you want a true look at New York living, then Erin Boyle of Reading My Tea Leaves is the girl for you. Erin’s blog is well rounded and has a bunch of lifestyle-esque reading for you to scroll through for hours, but we are especially fond of one series in particular. She has a whole section of her blog devoted to life in a tiny apartment, and that is something almost every urban resident has had encountered at some point. Rather than complaining though, she embraces it and suggests tips and solutions to make your space the best it can be.
Ashley Manfred Design
It’s impossible to ignore the glamorous side of New York City and design, and Ashley Manfred does an excellent job with showcasing beautiful designs and accomplished designers that we often ooh and ahh at. The interior designer shares her inspiration boards with us, gives us design trend updates, and does roundups of things that she knows her readers will love. Keep up to date with her blog and you’ll find yourself deep in style envy.
