When Valentine’s Day began in the High Middle Ages, it was about chivalrously expressing love and admiration. Not with generic cards and stale candy hearts but with heartfelt notes and thoughtful gifts. Every day through February 14, we’ll feature a Krrb corner with fresh gift ideas for your loved ones.
Up next is Hans My Hedgehog whose pencil illustrations of animals bring a little piece of nature into the home. Jessica Boehman’s love for the whimsical animal menagerie even translates in the name of her shop, based on a Grimm’s fairytale about a hedgehog boy who becomes king of the forest.

My handmade “I love you more than you love Bruce Lee” card I gave my husband last year on our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. He nearly loves Bruce more than he loves me. I think it may actually be a tie.
