Professional photographer Amber Marlow has been teaching us a thing or two about photographing items for sale. A great photo is essential when selling online. For large, bulky items like sofas, dining tables and dressers, the key is to get several angles to show the depth of the piece. Have a friend sit or stand near your item to give a reference point to the size of the furniture. Also balanced lighting and a little pre-shoot cleaning can make a huge difference. Be sure to check out Amber’s first and second lessons — photographing items without structure like a shirt, blanket or curtains and photographing small items like salt shakers or figurines for sale.
