How lovely is this old Westinghouse freezer? This is the kind of thing that if it greeted me in my kitchen every morning, I would instantly feel a happy serenity. Its retro look is not only cool, but it’s also authentic. For the most part, I shun reproductions of any sort, so when I saw that this unit was built in the 1950s — it got major points from me. Never mind the unexpected bonus that the freezer actually works!
With the current trends of CSAs, GoodEggs, Fresh Direct and various other curated grocery deliver services, I tend to always be busting at the seams with food I can’t eat fast enough, so I would definitely put this thing to good use. Of course, if you have a healthy appetite and don’t find yourself with lots of leftovers, you can always leave it unplugged and use it for storage. It could make a fine wine rack, case for vinyl records, or cabinet for plates and glassware. Super cool piece!
