I’m a huge fan of ditching the glaring overhead light whenever possible. Especially during the winter months, the warmth of a table lamp is comforting. Having recently taken a lamp making class with I Like That Lamp at Brooklyn Craft Company and seeing all the amazing lighting fixtures in Wes Anderson’s new film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, my fascination has only increased. I can imagine myself writing this post by the ambient light of this Antique Emeralite Desk Lamp; it’d be perfect in any office space and the green shade reminds me of the similar one my parents had when I was little. The detailing on the base adds charm and the seller even dates the lamp specifically between 1909 and 1916. Perhaps, armed with this gem, Wes will cast me as an extra in one of his films. For now, I’ll start with the lamp.
