One of the biggest flavors and scents associated with the holiday season is none other than peppermint. There’s a variety of ways you can introduce this refreshing mint into your daily routine, and we think you’ll be very pleased with the outcome! Want to really impress your guests? Have a bowl set up with homemade peppermint candies waiting for them upon their arrival! I know you’re thinking that this task seems like too much work, but this personal touch will go a long way. And you’ll know exactly what’s going into these candies so you don’t have to worry about guests with dietary restrictions.

DIY Serving Platter

This peppermint serving platter DIY literally blows my mind! The best part? It’s so easy to do that even the least crafty person can do it perfectly. You simply line peppermint candies on a round piece of parchment paper, set that in a pan, pop that in an oven at 350 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes, and you’ve got yourself an edible serving tray. Yes!

Bath Bomb

With the temperature and weather shifting so much at this time of year, it’s important to pay attention to dry skin. Using peppermint is a great way to care for your skin and smell great! It’s a hectic season, so remember to spend some time decompressing, perhaps in a bath with a homemade bath bomb? Sounds relaxing to us!

Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate is perfect on it’s own, but during this season I can’t help but spike it with some peppermint. Something about swirling a candy cane around in a rich mug of warm dark chocolate makes my heart skip a beat! Whether you want to melt in crushed candy cane or simply add peppermint extract, this peppermint hot chocolate recipe is super simple and only requires one pot to get the job done.

Hosting a holiday party, but aren’t into those traditional cocktails? These DIY peppermint shot glasses will be a party favorite! They’ll serve as festive decoration and also a fun way to sneak some wintery flavor into the drinks without having to concoct elaborate cocktails. Would I sip some hot chocolate out of this? Maybe.

My skin is very sensitive in the winter months, but my lips are what end up needing the most attention. Nobody wants to have their lips cracking while they are ice skating or enjoying a festive stroll around the city! This lip balm will keep your lips happily moisturized so you’ll be ready to go!

Desserts

I love chocolate mixed with mint all year round. Peppermint Patties and Junior Mints are two of my favorite candies so I love experimenting with new dessert recipes. I know exactly what I’m baking this season and that is these chocolate candy cane gooey butter cookies and these peppermint bark brownies. Why just make bark when I can make it alongside brownies?

Waking up in the morning and taking a shower really gets you ready for the day ahead of you. Now picture your normal routine but with the added bonus of peppermint sugar scrub. Heck yeah. Not only will your shower smell amazing, but you’ll be extra soft for the remainder of the day!

Soap

I happen to have a family full of people who love speciality soaps, so this peppermint DIY is perfect for me to whip up this year. It’s easy to make because of the small amount of ingredients needed. You’ll just need goats milk or shea butter soap base, peppermint oil and soap molds. Could that be any easier? We think not.

I personally love decorating with candy canes but never end up actually eating them all. I don’t want them to go unused this year, so this handy list of ways to use up your candy canes is great for people like me (and I know there are more of you out there!). From marshmallows to cocktails, no candy cane will go unused this year!

What ways do you use peppermint during the holidays? Let us know in the comments so we can try them out!

I don’t care for chocolate and mint together but I will be trying the peppermint body scrub during my winter break. Great ideas!
