Here at Krrb we love doing-it-ourselves. Whether it’s a nice bench or lamp, there’s nothing quite like the feeling you get after building something yourself. That’s why it’s so great to know that if you go looking in any city you can find a nice, little DIY Shop that might just have everything you need.
This month, we’re exploring a few DIY Shops in Toronto. If you’re a native or just visiting the area, these are the go-to shops for your DIY needs.
The Work Room
A Community Workspace located in Parkdale, The Work Room, has everything you need for your DIY projects and more! Pop by during open hours to do a little bit of shopping and work on your own projects with their open studio rentals. On top of all that, The Work Room holds workshops, classes, and events for sewing and crafts.
The Work Room is located at 1340 Queen Street West Toronto, Ontario M6K 1L4 or you can find them online here.
Thinking about redecorating your home? Well, whether it’s an apartment or a large house, Re:Style Studio can help. Come on by to pick up some new furniture or have the team at Re:Style help you create a whole space with their interior design services. On top of that, if you have a piece of furniture that’s seen it’s share of wear and tear bring it on by the store for some reupholstering or learn how to do it yourself with a workshop!
RE:Style Studio is located at 344 Westmoreland Ave. North Toronto, ON, M6H 3A7 or you can find them online here.
This female run space gives everyone the welcoming atmosphere they deserve while constructing their dream creation. There is a woodshop, a ceramic studio, and just about anything else you’ll need to get started. If you’re looking to sell whatever wild things you may create, The Shop can help with that too by displaying your work in the store and online. This makes The Shop a truly unique space.
The Shop is located at 1139 College St. Toronto, ON, M6H 1B5 or you can find them online here.
Nanopod: Hybrid Studio
Finally, here is the space for all your metal and glass needs. Come in to the open studio to work on all your custom jewelry or whatever else your little heart desires. The possibilities are endless. They have all sorts of courses, including a course in taxidermy! Everybody loves a good course in taxidermy!
