Come Together

Last minute prep at the Dekalb Market yielded smashing results.

Krrb HQ has been buzzing with activity lately. Maybe it’s the warm weather that’s got us jumping or maybe it’s just the fact that we’ve had the opportunity to partner with some truly great folks recently. Whatever it is, it’s been a blast.

This past weekend found us working with Domino and The North Brooklyn Merchants Association to help put on Shop, Drop & Drink featuring a weekend’s worth of amazing deals from many of the incredible merchants who populate the biggest borough in the biggest city in the United States. We are always up for getting to know our neighbors a bit better—especially when those neighbors include the likes of Hickoree’s, In God We Trust, Bird, A&G Merch and Momofuku Milk Bar. The weather was beautiful and the deals were hot and New York came out in full force.

Across town, in Downtown Brooklyn, we’ve taken up residence at the Dekalb Market for the next two weeks. We teamed up with Krrb vendor, Jane Plantain, to open up a lil’ Krrb Container amongst the other incredible vendors including Eleanor’s, Ebb and Flow, Grumpy Bert and 3rd Ward. If you don’t know about Dekalb, we suggest you check it out right soon.

We came, we saw, we were contained. The Krrb Container interior, Dekalb Market, Brooklyn.

Produced by Urban Space, the mini-city composed entirely of shipping containers is one of the truly unique spots in New York City. Now in its second year, the market, with all of its food vendors, retail shops, live shows and beer garden, is open seven days a week from 11 – 6 through December. The Krrb Container will be alive and kicking through the 22nd of April but you’ll find us taking it all in all summer long.

Kickin' it at the Dekalb Market...

After a brief respite this week we’ll be back at it this weekend when we’ll be taking part in the Vegan Shop Up produced by the lovely Sarah Peitier of Woodside Bakehouse. The Vegan Shop Up is an ongoing, roving festival that brings together vendors of the vegan persuasion in one place allowing you to sample and purchase goods from the likes of Sweet by Jana, Hudson + Bleeker, The Tafari and Electric Blue Baking all while enjoying the cozy confines of the Pine Box Rock Shop in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

The Vegan Shop Up at the Pine Box always packs 'em in!

Each of these partners represent so much of what Krrb was built on—neighborliness, respect, knowledge of and contribution to your community and just plain old environmental sensibility—that we thought it only proper to give a little nod to all the organizers, vendors, buyers and sellers that share our world view and make our jobs so much fun. Can’t wait to see all of you again soon! And if you happen to catch us out and about, don’t be shy, say hello. We most definitely won’t bite but we just might give you a big hug!
