Go ahead – check out some of the wildest ideas we’ve found, and give them a go!
1. Woven Palm Leaf Art
This DIY project in particular is the inspiration behind our botanical roundup. I’m completely enamored with this one, and I’ve had it on my own “to-do” list for quite some time now. I’m a minimalist when it comes to interior design and love the idea of having just glass and no mat in the frame! The project is simple too, just weave the leaves together by following these directions and you’re set.
2. Leaf Backdrop
Whether you’re planning a dinner party or just bored with looking at your blank canvas, this is the perfect project for you! By simply taping leaves onto a painted wall you’re able to create a focal point that will surely impress your guests. Choose a variety of different leaves and arrange them in whichever shape or pattern suits your taste.
3. Flower Crowns
High style is certainly not just for our homes! You can make your own stylish flower crown to upgrade any outfit you have. Though, I must admit that the best part is displaying them in your house and adding that midsummer-esque romance you’d been sporting all day. Choose from simple designs consisting of leaves, or go a little more into detail with a variety of seasonal flowers. The choice is yours!
4. Magnolia Leaf Garland
If you have a surface area that’s looking for some style, look no further than this leaf garland. This DIY is so simple, and its outcome will add the texture and warmth to your space that you were missing before. Whether you want to keep this garland up all year-round or reserve it for the holiday season, it’s a decorating must!
5. Painted Leaf Banner
If you’re looking for a fun project that has a whole lot of color and personality, then you’ll love this one. This painted leaf banner is a project that you and the little ones can do together. Head outside and find some leaves in different shapes and sizes (or the same if you prefer consistency), and then pick out complementary paint colors and patterns. You’ll love how this banner looks in your children’s bedrooms, and they’ll love to do it again!
6. Pressed Botanicals
This is something I always liked to do as a kid, and I think I’d love to start doing it again. Pressing flowers that you collected at a special event or from a leisurely walk is a beautiful way to decorate small spaces. You even can store them in old books until you’ve found the perfect matte and frame. This is a low effort DIY, but it yields high results!
7. Floral Backdrop
Whether you’re having a special event in your home or at another venue, this is a project that you should consider putting some time and effort into. Flowers add a whole new life to an event, and these hanging arrangements will turn any space into something magical. Make your hanging arrangement as big or small as you want. The impact will be huge either way!
