Everyone loves a good party but the thought of cleaning up the aftermath is a drag. These five quick tips for post-party clean up are a guaranteed way to help you have more fun and get to bed earlier.

Invite People to Stay the Night

The more people cleaning up the better. If you loan your couch to a few friends for the night, they will feel guilty if they don’t help you clean up. Delegate some tidying tasks before they head to bed and again in the morning for chores like sweeping and dishes.

Go Light on the Decorations

Don’t go overboard on the trimmings. Minimal decorations means you have less to clean up at the end of the night. That’s a theme we can get behind.

Use Disposables Smartly

It hasn’t always been the most Earth-friendly option but disposables make party clean up a breeze. You’ll save major time if you don’t have to do dishes — especially if you live without a dishwasher! Keep it green by using compostable plates, cups and utensils.

Clean Up as You Go

Not that you shouldn’t enjoy your party but doing two rounds of cleanup throughout the night will cut down on your cleaning time. Pay special attention to any spills and have a premixed bottle of white vinegar, dish soap and water on hand. Bethany Fegles has a great all-naturalall-purpose cleaner recipe.

Set Up Trash Stations

Place multiple trash cans around your party space. Encourage guests to dispose of trash throughout the night with easy to find wastebaskets. Strategically place bins where you think guests will most need them.
