Sure, we’ve got our ear to the ground and we know the hottest trends in home decor for 2014. But we always want more. (Can you blame us?) Here today are two of our most high-energy home decor bloggers with their to-do lists for the year.
Danielle Driscoll, Finding Silver Pennies
I have so many projects planned for 2014! In the living room, I’m hoping to add a distinctive chesterfield sofa and arm chair to the layout. I’m already saving up!
We have guests coming from England in April so it is my goal to get our currently neon-blue-painted guest room looking soft and shabby chic. This includes taking down a shelf, painting the walls, doing a statement wall with a stencil, soft flowing curtains, painting the full bed (which used to be mine growing up) in Ironstone Milk Paint with a chippy look. And if we still have money and time — we want to do some work in the sunroom and the yard. The kitchen may have to wait until 2015 for an update!
Krista Byers, Goodwill Glam
It seems like my decorating projects are never ending. This year, I would like to inject some personality into my kitchen space. It’s not really a solid game plan, huh? Whether this means painting the cabinets, painting the walls, buying some bright kitchen accessories or all of the above, something must be done!
I also want to paint the study a lighter, brighter color. Currently, it’s brown. That’s right. Brown. Ugh! I’m thinking we’ll go white. I’ve also got to figure out a headboard solution for our master bedroom. Not sure if this just means finding one, or tackling a DIY one. Either way, I’m checking this off my list this week.
