It’s Friday and we can’t wait to unchain ourselves from our desks and get out and about. Weekend Wanderer is a series that you’ll find every Friday morning featuring a few activities we’d like to explore. Check them out for yourself or do something in your neck of the woods. Pack your bags with your finest formalwear for the annual Midsummer’s Night Ball in Norfolk. Held at the Houghton Hall near King’s Lynn, the event is organized by Last Tuesday Society, known around London for their elaborate parties. The frankfurter may have originated in New York City but South Florida is celebrating the all American food this weekend with their annual Hot Dog Fest. Whether or not you participate in the hot dog eating contest, there will be plenty of franks to satisfy your appetite. To load up on footlongs, visit the Hot Dog Fest in Arts Park at Young Circle in Hollywood.

McSweeney’s Summertime Garage Sale, San Francisco, California

We love a good garage sale find and there’s sure to be many at McSweeney’s Summertime Garage Sale. All leftover merchandise from the well-known literary journal, created by author Dave Eggers, will be on sale. The sale includes past issues of their quarterly and other books produced under the McSweeney’s publishing house.
