When it comes to Chicago, Diana Durkes has her thumb on the pulse of all things thrift and secondhand. Aside from giving us the scoop on the Windy City’s finest furniture sellers and running her own blog, she recently celebrated the first year anniversary of the opening of her nonprofit thrift store. Happy birthday to Lake Forest Resale Shop! We caught up with Diana before she takes a summer hiatus and spends her days experimenting with the ice cream machine. Like us, Diana can’t wait for Randolph Street Market’s season opener next weekend. Find out what Randolph goodies caught her eye!
“Dueling Watson the Cat” Screen Print

Find this purrrty limited edition print at Randolph Street Market. Photo: Krrb.com/Pussiesonparade
If you have a cat, you find there’s something so familiar about the feline face. Even if you don’t have one, who can resist a Venn diagram with cats?
Find it on Krrb.com.
“Frontiers of the Sea” Book Art

During Memorial weekend, Randolph Street Market vendor Exploded Library will have a number of book sculptures. Photo: Krrb.com/explodedlibrary
Yes! A second life for old books, and there are tons of old books around, I found out this year. What if you lined an entire wall with them?
Find it on Krrb.com.
Felt Pig Toy

Doesn't this little piggie make you want to squeal? Photo: Krrb.com/windingroad
Too cute! A happiness gift, the latest addition to the pig shrine. Good for handmade fun and cheer.
Find it on Krrb.com.
Sustainable Wallcoverings

A simple change of wall coverings impacts the whole room. Photo: Krrb.com/Aroneldesign
The modern patterns are beautiful, and so is the print-on-demand concept. Could these be the new accent wall?
Find it on Krrb.com.
Upcycled Bookends

Show off your book collection with vintage industrial wheels. Photo: Krrb.com/montalbano
Found object love. These have a nice industrial appeal that’s functional. You could put them on top of a random stack of paper and make it look neat and deliberate.
Find it on Krrb.com.
Thanks Diana!
See You There!
