My hand-me-down, slipcovered, Ikea loveseat has seen better days. The white cover I insisted on is now grey and mottled. The cushions are sagging and frankly, it’s just not fashionable. Gone are the days of college-style living and my living room requires something well, more adult.
The sophisticated lines of the Danish Mod Daybed ($1,500) pairs well with my mid-century chairs — a recent find. Designed by Peter Hvidt for John Stuart, this 1950’s daybed is made in Denmark. I can already picture this European teak beauty in my living room working everything from cocktail parties to Sunday afternoon movie marathons.
