Don’t Miss – Free DIY Upcycling Workshop at Dekalb Market

Dont Miss Free DIY Upcycling Workshop at Dekalb Market

Bao Khang-Luu showed viewers on The Nate Berkus Show how to make his upcycled lights and now you're next. Photo: Thenateshow.com

Earth Day is a few days away and we’re doing everything we can to Listen to Our Mother. But who says you can’t save the earth with a little style? We’ve teamed up with Bao Khang-Luu of Relevé Design for another go at upcycling. This time around, the more the merrier. The designer will be at the bustling Dekalb Market on Saturday to do a free workshop of his DIY version of his gorgeous $300 lamps. Be prepared to light up with a pendant lamp that reuses six-pack plastic rings, takeout containers and twist ties. If you want in on the action, be at the Krrb Container at 2pm. First come, first serve.

So get there early and check out the vintage spread curated by Krrb member Jane Borock at the Krrb Container!

Dekalb Market is open 7 days a week at 138 Willoughby Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Full schedule at Dekalb Market.

I’m sooooo disappointed! I would love to be there! This type of event and being local is something I’ve been dying for! Unfortunately, I cannot attend on Saturdays since I am Jewish and a Sabbath observer. Is there any chance it will be recorded and shown anywhere like youtube or something? Or are there any plans to have events on Sundays? Thanks.

Hey Carrol! We try to do lots of this kind of good stuff so just stay tuned to the Krrb blog and newsletter. You can also find the process on Bao’s website here: http://www.relevedesign.com/how-to-make-six-pack-pendant-lights/
