When Valentine’s Day began in the High Middle Ages, it was about chivalrously expressing love and admiration. Not with generic cards and stale candy hearts but with heartfelt notes and thoughtful gifts. Every day through February 14, we’ll feature a Krrb corner with fresh gift ideas for your loved ones.
You can always count on Dalaga for spicy gift ideas come Valentine’s Day. The Greenpoint shop, jointly owned by sisters Michelle and Mary Mangiliman, is known for their must-have sassy dresses and shoes. Just add some vintage-inspired lingerie underneath and you’re ready for romance.
Hi Michelle! Tell us about your most memorable Valentine’s Day moment.
Moving to New York from San Francisco with my husband on Valentine’s Day 2004. We moved with big dreams and goals and Dalaga was one of them.
It is so nice to see dreams like Dalaga achieved. What is the best Valentine’s Day present you’ve ever given?
I think this year I’ll be giving the best Valentine’s day present that I’ve ever given to my little girl Mahal. We spent the weekend making homemade Valentines for our loved ones.
That is so sweet! And who is your lucky Valentine this year?
My 2 year old daughter Mahal is my valentine this year:) Her name means love in Filipino.
